I set ‘Start From’ to User Origin. To test etch a circle, I set Job Origin to center dot. After setting laser at the place where it’s supposed to begin, laser starts but does not draw circle around center point. Instead, it draws the circle to the left of start point at a distance equal to diameter of the circle. I have an xTool D1 20W Non-Pro. Computer recently crashed. Win 10 had to be reinstalled. LightBurn had to be reinstalled. LightBurn hasn’t worked corretly since.
Lightburn or the 20w Non-Pro? If you had a systems crash, there is a good chance you still do not have everything set quite right.
Create your test in a Lightburn file, confirm it does what you are observing, then upload the Lightburn file in your reply. We will see if we can duplicate what you are getting.

That file has Absolute Coords selected. You said User Origin, right?
When I select User Origin, the green square is in the lower left corner of the part. If you want to start with the nozzle in the center position, you have to select that in the Job Origin under the Start From box. In other words, you control what is supposed to be the Origin location.
Here is a little reading material for you…

Not expecting there to be a simple solution to this one, but your efforts are appreciated.
