I just activated my Ortur Laser 2 and I’m not able to get it to do anything. There’s a flashing red light. I’m also getting an error saying “port unable to open - already in use.” I’ve tried turning the laser on/off, unplugging and replugging the USB cord, removing the device and adding it again.
I’m a total newb, so I’m out of ideas. It has never moved or homed. Please help!
Hi Mallory - that error typically shows when some other laser software has grabbed ahold of your laser’s connection, or your PC may lack the drivers needed to communicate with your laser.
Please ensure you’ve closed any other CNC/Laser software, and you may need to install drivers for your laser from here https://sparks.gogo.co.nz/ch340.html
I downloaded the drivers, and the red light is still blinking. I’m using a Mac, FYI. I really appreciate your speedy response, and I apologize for not having tried your fix until now (it’s been a series of unfortunate events). I will welcome any other help you can offer!
