I am a novice. I followed an install video to what I believe to be the exact explanations. I am able to connect to my laser, It will fire but it will not move along the X axis. I have checked all connections that seem to be connected appropriately. I cannot find any tutorial videos to help. Why wont my X axis move?
Does it move at all when clicking on the Jog buttons in the Move window?
Does it move in the Y axis?
If it has Homing switches, does it HOME properly?
It was moving forwards/backwards and side to side to home when I set it up. Then it stopped moving forwards and backwards all together and was moving side to side. Now it moves side to side by about 2cm then stops and doesn’t move forward and backwards at all. I am yet to be able to engrave or cut anything since opening it and building it.
Does this mean you assembled it?
My guess is that the grub (set) screws worked loose on the couplings, or pulleys, at the stepper motor shafts. This is a common problem that happens as a result of shipping. Check the entire machine for loose screws and bolts.
