Laser move function broken after 1.5.x update

Hi,

I have custom grblHAL controller and laser that we using with lightburn for a few years now. Everything works as expected but from 1.5.0+ version incremental position change stopped working. It appears that for some reason reading position from GRBL controller always returns 0 for X/Y causing both manual keybard jog and clicking on arrows in move panel to fail. In all versions controller on “?” returns proper position.

Downgrading to 1.4.x fixes this issue and everything is back as usual.

Is there any known issue that may cause this problem?

Thanks,

Did you try another PC with a recent (maybe 1.6) version of LB as well? We had some discussions lately that were about problems with LB and grblHAL. This could be related, but from my experience, your error more sounds like a bug that could be resolved by resetting everything and a clean installation.

Yes - I have tested linux lightburn on one PC and windows version on second PC. All versions up to 1.4.x works fine and 1.5.x and 1.6.0 getting same movement issue as a result. No difference between PC/s and OS versions.

That sounds interesting. Maybe it is indeed related to LB is double sending commands (now with video)
@JohnJohn you might also take a look here. It’s both with grblHAL as firmware. Is there a change in the serial protocol between 1.4 and the following versions?

Personally, right now, I have many problems connecting to a recently compiled grblHAL-firmware with LB, but LaserGRBL works without issues.

I am looking into this now. I have a bare controller up and running.
