Laser no cut anymore, only engraving

Hello there.
I have a foxalien laser 20w and i’m experiencing some issues in cutting mdf board, 2/3/4mm thickness.

After i finish the laser configuration i made some material test. The first one (10x10 squares) told me that i can cut mdf 2mm with 200mm/min speed and 70%. After that my laser don’t cut anymore, i tried several tests but nothing. I tried to clean lens, focusing again e the wiring cable is good. Any suggestion?

Here my $$ configuration: $$

Check the value of S Value Max in Edit->Device Settings and set to 10000 if not already so.

If that doesn’t work, please list all of the things that have potentially changed since it last worked correctly. Did you recreate the device or make any configuration changes?

Hi, thanks for your reply!
I checked and $32 is set to 10.000!
The only adjustments i made was for setting the 0 axis because the origin wasn’t at 0,0

Maybe i try to reset all the grbl settings??

I’m asking you to check S Value Max in Edit->Device Settings, not GRBL $32 which is different.

How did you do this?

Likely no need to do this.

Ok sorry, my bad!
In device settings is set to 1000 only!
i follow this guide GRBL Configuration - LightBurn Documentation

Change S Value Max to 10000 to match $30. Also, make sure that $32 is not actually 10000 as you indicated earlier. It should be set to 1.

That should address your power issue.

got it. changed to 10000 in edit-settings and $30 is 10000 too. ($32 is 1, it was a typo before)

the i run 2 material tests: on a 3mm mdf the laser cut as shown in the photo, whereas on the 2mm don’t cut again.
i don’t understand it. mmmh

The materials themselves look different. The 3mm is darker. If the density and material is also different then those factors could explain the difference in cutting.

ok then…
i try some more tests and let’s see.

thank you very much for helping.
