Laser not doing smooth cut on curved lines

Hi!

I have a problem which I can’t solve so far. I have Creality Falcon2 22W machine and all functions looks good but I can’t get smooth line on some shapes like circle or ellipse.
I checked belts, all connections are tight so I don’t think it’s mechanical problem but anyway the cuts are like on picture.

Can you help me with this thing?

Was thinking the same thing, i.e., check your license.

IIRC, pirated copies of LightBurn will wreak havoc on usable output. (Like @berainlb has diplomatically pointed out)

Not saying this is the case here, but it does look suspicious. I also see that you joined the forum 7 hours ago.

Report back if there’s something else going on.

Creality has a history of shipping pirate copies with their machines … Creality Falcon 10w strange draw

For the record, I downloaded and compared the LightBurn file from Creality’s site to the official LightBurn release file. The results were identical.

There may be more to the story.

CR-Laser Falcon Laser Engraver Software& Firmware Download - Creality 3D

The topic I linked had the OP mentioning the suspected pirate copy was shipped on the removable storage with the machine.

It’s entirely possible the two copies (SD card vs download) are different or that Creality corrected a mistake and we are still seeing old stock.

Just thinking out loud.

The version that Creality have for download is accompanied with Creality specific files for the Falcon including an .lbdev file and looks just like the type of thing that would be included in a USB drive. The dates for all files are in 2022 with the version of LightBurn being 1.0.06. It seems entirely plausible that this would have been the same set of files shipped on USB.

While this doesn’t rule out the possibility that a completely separate set of files were included in the USB drive along with a pirated version of LightBurn, to me it seems likely that there are simpler scenarios that sufficiently explain what happened.

Wow… Never could think tat pirate or any other copy can do that. But anyway… Just tried to uninstall and install it back but use the trial version with 30 day period and yes, everything is smooth and sharp now.
Yes, I’m a new guy tho the laser cut and engrave world and I will have tons of questions. Most likely.
Thanks everyone!

I think that’s the Lightburn tact to get you to get a valid copy. Not the hack itself.

Did you buy and Creativity supply a key code for Lightburn?

:smile_cat:

this is a strong statement, i would assume a company like creality would not do this. at least willingly

Of course the trial version works smoothly. But once the trial is over, you’ll need to purchase a license.

I did the trial too. But for only a few days. I knew it was exactly what I was looking for and have never looked back. Runs extremely well with my Ruida & HL1060 CO2.

Perhaps too strong? “Innocent until proven guilty”, I suppose, and they haven’t been proven guilty to my knowledge. PY seems to think there’s more to the story. If this comes up again in the future, I’ll try to avoid using the word “pirate”.
