Laser Pecker rotary

As mentioned in a previous post, I want a laser etcher that I would exclusively for rotary projects, be doing research and I thinking about the Lader Pecker LP4 with rotary extension. Does anybody have any experience with this laser or any Laser Pecker products?

Search the Forum for “laser pecker”. I saw a lot of postings, so I am guessing experience prevails.

The problem with the LP4 is Lightburn doesn’t see it as a galvo. It’s a gcode machine, so some of the galvo operations won’t function, such as 3d slice.

Good luck hand holding these. Most of these need to be secured as a slight movement will destroy the graphics. They show most of these, using gravity to hold them down, not a human.

Don’t know what you want to do, but a 2W IR laser doesn’t have much punch.

Have fun. :grinning_cat:

Can you tell us which keywords, or prompts brought you to the LP4?

In the other thread, you said you want to engrave “Mainly glass bottles”. The LP4 has a 10W 450nm blue laser, and a 2W IR at 1064nm.
Clear glass doesn’t absorb those beams enough to leave a mark. You’ll need to prepare the glas with a black marker, or laser marking spray. See here

The reason I went with the LP4, was it size, and the rotary attachment I also bought for it, I don’t do a lot of glass but have had several requests for round glass, yes still will have to use black translucent paint, just as I do for the flat glass I currently do, so not a big issue for me. Also my space is limited which also was a factor.

It’s very compact, yes
In that case, the LP4 is a good fit for you.

The LaserPecker firmware uses some custom commands, but they work well when their device profile is loaded into LightBurn.

We have an LP4 in the fleet and it’s been a while since I’ve used it. They updated the firmware and config files since then.

Hit me up, if you run into any issues! I’ll be happy to run tests on my side.
