I bought my Engraver after my mom passed, I used it one time. It worked great, I went through a move and didn’t use it till now (2.5 years later). I upgraded my Lightburn software, turned it on and it has thrown out some messages, first one, [MSG: Flame detector active,Ambient infrared value:0]

That’s just a few. The red and blue light has been on through most of the time I have been troubleshooting it. It even sounded the alarm a time or two, (if it was alive I would say it was cussing me!) The laser lights up and it does everything BUT engrave. I cleaned the housing and the lens, still nothing. I tried to d/l the update hardware for Ortur but couldn’t open the file. I don’t know what else to do.
The flame detector will shut off the laser beam. If the machine is facing a window or otherwise open to Daylight, the sensor can give off a false alarm. Cover the sensor with a piece of cardboard, or you could turn it off using the console commands.
The quick and temporary cover the sensor is how i would do it. Make 100% sure you are wearing laser safe glasses/goggles while using the engraver. Even momentary exposure to the laser beam and its reflections can cause immediate and permanent damage.
the alarm isn’t doing it now. Now the red light is a steady red. What does that mean?

I wonder if I need to update the firmware, maybe?
If so, I have no clue where to go to do it…
It works perfect, does framing, I have hit the start button, and it moves to do the job but doesn’t engrave anything
I found where to upgrade my firmware but it want’s to open in ie (internet explorer) I haven’t used ie in YEARS. Is there a more updated site I can get the upgrade at?
For the record, I have had the LMP2 for over 4 years. I have NEVER bothered to update the firmware.
well, I can’t update mine because the .exe file won’t open. I got mine in 2022 after my mom passed but couldn’t run it because of the smell it throws out. now that I am able to it won’t engrave. I wonder if I turn off the bump/fire warning if it would work?
You were right! It wasn’t firmware upgrade that I needed! I have to learn the settings. I just engraved my first job. I still have to learn the setting but I finally got to work.
