LB 2.0.01 Air assist stops during cut

no, I did not have any file called A1.lbdev. I had LightBurn detect the laser, and it installed successfully. I also updated the firmware beforehand from the manufacturer’s website. I did not find any microSD card included with the device, but it did come with a USB-A to USB-C adapter. I assumed the adapter was intended to connect the device to equipment requiring a USB input.

Joe,
I am currently running LB version 2.0.03-RC-2 @ 30c007a Qt6.5.7.
I have uploaded those files earlier in the thread. But will send again if you can’t find them.
Thank you.

I did not import that file that I can recall.

Thank you.

Same with me. Just usb Connect and started.

Creality just sent us the .lbdev file they mentioned.

They are still working on a full solution, but if you wanted to try and see if it works with their device definition, you can try it. As we only have an A1 Pro available to test with, we cannot guarantee this device profile will work as of yet.

Creality Falcon A1.lbdev (37.3 KB)

If you have better luck with it, please let us know.

Hey Everyone, I have a potential update! not a fix, but maybe a workaround.

Grab a project that has been doing this consistently run these steps for me:

  1. Save G-Code to a file
  2. Open the file in a text editor like notepad or vsCode and remove all lines with “M9”
  3. save the file
  4. In LightBurn click “Run G-Code” and pick that file
  5. Tell me what happens.

What seems to be happening when I am watching the stream is that as soon as M9 is in the buffer, which is a very long time before it’s actually run, it’s taking effect. Not what is intended, but an interesting observation on my A1 Pro here.

If this fixes the issue on your machines, this will help us figure out a plan. Thanks!!

Hiya Joe,

I did as you described. It still shut off during the cut.

Thank you.

I just imported the file and it did not correct the problem.

Thank you.

happoween.gcode (112.3 KB)
HappFDS.gcode (149.8 KB)
Can you run these 2 and see if they shut off during cut? Both run as expected with the A1 pro I have here.

The happoween file shut off mid cut.

The HappFDS file ran completely.

Thank you.

Last test for now - This has been crazy helpful so thank you.

In device settings go to “Basic Settings” and switch “Transfer Mode” from “Buffered” to “synchronous”

This will change how your job runs, it may be a little stuttery, but I am more focused on the air assist.

Run the one that shut off the air again and see if it stays on until the end or very close to the end.

In that test, the air did run for the complete job and remained on for another 30 seconds.

Thank you.

That told me what I wanted to know. Thanks!!

Has it been fixed for now ?
Greetings from Germany

There will be a Creality firmware update - if it’s not already up on their website.
