Lightburn 1.7.01 Doing some wonky things

I updated to LB 1.7.01 recently and now some wonky things are happening.
For instance:
The Frame button now does not frame. Rather it starts the laser to burning and moving at a snails pace. This action includes the Shift + Frame.
Also, the Speeds are higher than they used to be but it again, moves at a snails pace. If I have it set for 7500 speed (auto changed when I import a graphic) it doesn’t move at all quickly. More like a 50 on the older LB Versions.
I have searched the topics here and have been unable to find any information concerning this issue.
I have also verified that my machine is using the updated firmware.
Machine: XTool D1 Pro 20w.
I have uploaded what files I thought were pertinent. If something else is needed, please advise.

A post was split to a new topic: Oddities with 1.7 version

Show your Move panel. Jog speed = Frame speed.

1.7mm/s is really really slow. Bump it to 100 and see how it goes.

I reinstalled LB Version 1.6 (latest in that series and then reinstalled LB Version 1.7.01 – it did change mt Move settings as they appear in the attached screenshot of the Move panel. I then shut LB down and generated an image to attempt the changes – (2nd attached screenshot – When I went to Frame it, same thing - snails pace. This is very unfortunate because it has my business shut down while this issue is resolved.

Please confirm 2 things:

  1. The setting you show for Speed in Move window was 102 mm/s when you tested this
  2. Did you hear any unusual noise from the machine when you did this? Anything like a buzzing sound?

Try decreasing speed to 10 mm/s and try again. What are the results?

When you did this, was there any change to the framing behavior?

Also try this please. Go to “Console” window (you may need to enable this), enable the “Show all” toggle. Then try framing. Once you do that please copy and paste the output of the Console window in a reply here. Also, make note of the speed setting in Move window.

Yes there was a change in framing behavior. It framed properly in version 1.6.03, but still moves at snail pace in version 1.7.01 – even with the speed set at 102.
I tried the ‘Show All’ toggle and the same result - snail… Also running into the Window Panels are not allowing me to add to them. – But that’s for another day.

The 2 things to confirm:
1 – Yes the speed was 102 when I tested it.
2, – No unusual noises from the machine
Aslo, changing the speed to 10 mm has no effect. Still sloooooow.

Can you try toggling the units from inches to mm in the Numeric Edits Toolbar and retrying?

Does that result in different behavior?

If not, can you do the same “Show All” in Console and return results?

Same results on inches to MM and Nothing with the ‘Show All’

What does this mean? Did you enable “Show All” and then run the frame operation? Show All is meant to show you commands sent to the controller and not just what’s generated from the controller back to LightBurn.

Same thing – snails pace - no change. Except this time the Show All actually worked.

This looks like you’re still running in inches mode. Can you confirm that you toggled to mm in the Numeric Edits toolbar?

If not, can you switch to mm and rerun? Also, confirm what the speed setting is in Move window when you do that. Then rerun frame with Show All enabled please.

Also note that full screenshots are generally more useful than cropped screenshots as more auxiliary information can be gleaned from surrounding information.

I don’t know how fast snails pace is, but I presume that it is moving 0.394 inches per minute.

I would change (in machine settings if I recall correctly off the top of my head) your speeds to be in mm/minute rather than per second and try again with a speed of 6000.

Your current setting should be moving about two feet per minute… but apparently it is not, so trying speeds in mm/minute can’t hurt.

Edit: Should have gone with my first thought, speed unit settings are under Settings → Units and Grids tab, as below.

Once asked to switch over I did. And haven’t changed it. The console shot is in mm mode

This is what my current Machine Settings are at. What would I change?

That’s interesting as the gcode to the controller is configured in inches.

In Move window, change speed to 100 mm/s, leave units in Numeric Edits in mm. Enable Show All, then frame.

What is the behavior? Can you send updated Console output?

It’s the same behavior – grass grows faster. The 2nd screenshot is the full $$ thing – which happened when I changed the speed to 100. I didn’t type $$.

What does the Settings screen show? Units and Grids Tab.
