LightBurn home location with xTool extension kit

Even fanier, I downloaded the file today again and it contains these files:
xTool D1 Pro
xTool D1 (1)
xTool D1 and
xTool D1 (2)
Yes, I guess I will have to find out from them what are they doing.

Jess, the guys at xTool are trying to understand the problem, and I am working with them in that sense, because none of the files in the last lbdev works. I produced a video con precise measurements for them to check, but in addition I need your help for me to be mode helpful in the process. Given that LB cannot read the position of the laser beam from D1 (because D1 itself does not know where it is located), and the way that LB works, makes me think that after a Home order LB counts the steps that it needs to reach any position in the table, and as it process a job adds or substracts from x and y counters. In summary, LB knows at anytime how many x and y steps is from home, and when the home order is sent it steps back those counters. What makes me think that, is that the laser head does not “hit” the rails when you started from Home, and you are within the size of the table, other wise, for example, if you power on the unit, manually position the head anywhere in the table and order Home, the head will actually hit the rails and the xTool controller will stop the motors for overload. Anyways, there is some “disconnection” between LB and the lbdev file, because there is a consistent shift between the last position at its assumed Home position of 460mm. In short, can you explain me (because I assume all my theory above is wrong) if you start from Home, how does LB goes to x1:y1, x2:y2 and back to 0:0?

Jess, here is a link of a new video I sent to xTool, that I think shows clearly what is going on.
Have a good weekend.

I am pleased to inform the community that xTool has provided a solution to the home issue with the extension kit. However, although the return to home has been proved successfully, please stay tuned until I run the full operational test in a couple of days to be sure that the solution to return to home did not affect anything in the cutting or engraving process.
Final report this week.

I am glad to confirm that the solution provided by xTool is operational and makes no difference when using LB with the xTool extension kit.
Please, address to xTool’s ticket # 284103 to access from first hand the solution to the to this issue. That is a ling ticket and I suggest to go to the last 3 or 4 messages to have all the pertaining information. If you run in trouble to access the ticket, I can provide a transcription of the email exchange I had with them.
