Going morning, I have been using the 1.7 prerelease for a few weeks now. Lastnight I closed the program and went to open it and nothing happened. I tried my 1.6 and it opened fine. I tried 1.7 again and still nothing. I uninstalled 1.7 and downloaded the lastest release and installed it. The install went fine. But again, when I double click the desktop icon, the curser spins like it is going to open and nothing happens. I never get a lightburn splash screen. Has anyone encountered this issue. I am running win11 on a surface 8 pro. I never had any issues until lastnight.
I’ve seen that a couple of times on my Windows 11 laptop here. What I had to do to resolve the issue, is to remove all of the versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from the system, then reinstall LightBurn and let it reinstall the Visual C++ apps from the installer. Something obviously got corrupted with the Visual C++ install or something, but this fixed the issue.
Check to make sure you don’t have a pop-up being displayed on a 2nd monitor that’s turned off. You can hold the Shift key when launching the app to reset all the window locations.
Steve, thank you very much for the help. I had probably eight versions of C++ installed. I uninstalled all of them and reinstalled the prerelease of light burn. It opened with no problem.
