LightBurn stopped launching

I had the latest version of LB and it started getting a little buggy. I deleted it, and downloaded the trial version which I assumed would see my license key and open the software. The LB icon just bounces. I went to look for answers and I see the perpetual license now on the website. I also thought I saw older versions of LB to download, but I can’t refind the link on the LB site.

Anyway, I can’t use LB. Did an OSX restart as well.

I have an MBP, M2 MAX chip, 32GB RAM, with Tahoe 26.5.1.

Do I have to buy the perpetual version of LB now to get my software to work?

Thoughts?

Hello Nelson

If you installed the latest version, you must allow 3-4 minutes of run time to the 1st launch as the files get translated by Rosetta2.

The consecutive launches should be normal.

Thanks.

Woke up this morning and it started right up.

Mine just stopped working too. On Windows, I can see boot screen for the app, it goes off and nothnig happens. I’ve been waiting for more than 5 minutes and still nothing. Running with Administrator privilges does nothing too. It was warking right after update to latest version and the only thing that have changed to my computer since the last time I’ve used this software was Nvidia update… help!

On windows is more a matter of possibly Redistributables C++
Please follow the steps described in this forum post.

So, I’ve updated C++ to the very latest version, and Lightburn 2.1.03 won’t start either. Checked Event Logs and found nothing connected to Lightburn. While still having the v1.7.08 update file on my computer I took the risk of installing it and Lightburn opened up normally, prompting that the newer version is available, but after installing v2.1.03 it doesn’t want to open - blue cricle next to mouse cursor flashes few times and nothing happens, it just shows up in task manager and dissapears (the Lightburn.exe)

And after removing it and installing again it still doe not start but I have this in Event Logs:

I am running v2.1.03 on 3 different brands of laptops (Dell Win10, Acer and Lenovo Win11) and have no issues like this, suggesting it is a Windows issue on your machine.

Try reinstalling the C++ Redistributables again, and get it from the Microsoft website.

Uinstalled, installed again, updated all C++ installations found on my computer, runned sfc /scannow and DISM, still 2.1.03 wont’s start.

Lightburn support is going to ask anyhow, so can you make a screen capture (SHFT+WinKey+S) of Lightburn while it is trying to open?

You can try this:

Then send the Debug Log to support.

In Event Logs I can now see that Windows Error Reporting shows up right after Aplication Error when I try to launch Lightburn… And I found out what was the problem! Nvidia In-Game Overlay - it was craching the Lightburn, simply turned it off in Nvidia App settings and Lightburn opened up like it should be!
