This should help, also applies to Win10.:

Please try the Release Candidate for version 1.7.01.
You can download it here:

It works but it seems to have lost all my settings and machines it asked me if I wanted to import them i said yes but still nothing how do i get them back?

Go to File > Preferences > Load Prefs backup, and choose one from before you updated.

This seems to be an issue with Windows locking an application from reading / writing files until it can perform a scan, and because LightBurn launches relatively quickly, sometimes that lock is still in effect when we try to load the preferences. We’re working on a way to resolve this properly, but loading a prefs backup is simple.

Where did you gather this Faulting information?

I’ve followed the advice of this thread (removed versions of Visual C++ and reinstalled LB 17.1) but I still only get a splash screen followed by nothing. I’d like to see the conditions of my fail, hence my question. Thanks.

UPDATE:
Never mind, I had skipped the step of uninstalling Lightburn before reinstalling it … having completed the full process, I’m back in business.
