I’m hoping to get some help with my Issue. I am seeing what appear to be lines between my fill shapes. I have confirmed this with my design as well as squares that were perfectly butted together. I am marking digital camo patterns on PMAGs. This requires low power, high speeds, and different frequencies and line intervals.
I’m not convinced either way, but I’d say this is lack of marking, not overburning, but I could be wrong.
Welding adjoining shapes will eliminate this phenomenon, but in practice, I am not able to weld all the shapes. I must maintain different layers just as my design calls for.
Things I’ve tried:
Increasing line interval by 50% more than normal
Offset Fill, resulted in jumbled mess
Adding small spaces between shapes, resulted in larger “gap” between shapes (should have fixed overburning)
Flood Fill ON/OFF, doesn’t matter
Cannot use negative Shape Offset, design somehow becomes ruined even with 0.00mm offset
Cannot slow down my speeds due to losing effect.
Filling by group or individually doesn’t make a difference
Helpful Info:
I have ruled out Adobe Illustrator as a cause. I can replicate the issue just using Rectangles butted against each other in LB, thus eliminating the file itself.
I am using the COR file from the manufacturer which has been nearly perfect so far.
Any help would be appreciated. I’m surprised I couldn’t find this issue before posting.
Can you share your LightBurn project file in the .LBDEV2 format? If we see your design and the exact settings used, we can hopefully see where your expectations don’t align with the outcome.
Hello, Tom
Timing and delay become more and more critical the faster you are running, 3000-5000 is pretty fast, at such a low power. There are timing overrides on the individual cut layers I would think first adjusting the Laser On TC delay would be a good place to start. Also Off and jump delay should be looked at.
I was able to eliminate this issue by increasing my Laser OFF TC from 100us to 150us.
I did not change anything else, but knowing I can makes me feel better.
I suppose the high speeds did make all the difference which explains why I have never had this issue until now.
I appreciate the help! I know others are having this issue and not posting.
Good! We have been discussing all the timing issues and adjustments on another thread, I have mine dialed in to the point I can run 1/2mm text at 5000-6000mm/s bi directional.
Read through it and pick out what you think will help when you have some time. Don’t get bogged down there is a lot of info to absorb, I haven’t gotten 100% through the last couple of Danny’s posts but I have still improved my speed and accuracy quite a bit.
I greatly appreciate this. I’m just now revisiting PMAGs and I’ll expirement more. If I find anything out, Ill post here or on Danny’s thread if it’s still open.
This can be closed for now. If anyone comes across this and the TC OFF alone doesnt fix it, the link to Danny’s post should help.
