Hi, I have a (Laser machine), with a bed size of 500X300mm the height to the cover is 175mm, I realise I’ll need a Macro camera, can anybody recommend a camera for these dimensions. I’ve seen a camera on Amazon that has a minimum height of 10cm, with an angle of 75%, is this going to give me a decent view of the bed to enable calibration.
Any help will be very welcome. DonO
If you have a typical enclosure for CO2 lasers then note that cameras are usually installed in such a way that they are expected to be used when in the open position. This isn’t to say that you couldn’t attempt to get an ultra-wide lens to use while closed but higher distortion in the camera creates its own issues.
The best reference for help in this area is the built-in help tool found in LightBurn’s Help->Camera Selection Help menu. That will give you an indication of mount height by camera type and FOV.

Hi B,
Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the camera set up in Lightburn help section, I used this as I also have a Longer B1, in a self built enclosure, I was able to set up and calibrate a camera for this unit, you’re right it is a typical CO2 Laser, (I must admit I thought it made more sense to have the camera fitted to the lid and the lid closed) although I have seen people on YouTube fix it in a position with the door open, I’ll rethink and try something different.
Thanks Don.
