MacBook Pro not recognizing AlgoLaser Alpha

I have a new AlgoLaser Alpha running great from the iOS app but limited functionality compared to lightburn. Just downloaded lightburn and the profile for the laser from AlgoLaser.com, however, it doesn’t recognize that the laser is ever connected to the computer. 6ft USB-c to USB-c cable. I’ve restarted the laser and the computer. Is there some way to help with the software recognizing the connection in Mac? (MacbookPro running Monterey).
