Makerbase DLC32 V2.1 TTL Laser wiring

Is there a reason a spindle would require an inverted PWM signal?

Cohesion has always claimed both software control concurrent with manual pot adjustment for current control.

I’m now wondering if the PWM control from software is actualized as full power pulses based on duty cycle and frequency of the PWM signal, capped by the current control from IN. I assume this is what you mean by driven like an SSL. I don’t know what a diode laser driver module does with the PWM signal, though. I had previously thought the signal was normalized and converted to an analog signal but I suppose it’s possible that it’s just passed to the diode as-is.

The pwm comes out of J18-3. The inverted pwm is J7-1

The PWM is on/off time… The output of J7-1 has the logic inverted. On is at ground level or low.

Make sense?

Can you make heads or tails out of a schematic?
