It would be helpful if you’d describe what you’re trying to accomplish, because it’s not at all obvious.

We do need more info than that.
Scanimation is just a fancy (new?) word for barrier-grid / picket-fence animation that’s been around for ages, so while I haven’t used LB’s designing features, I’d assume a mask of some sort is what You’re after?
Or
Just reduce the lpi in print mode enough to acchieve the effect.
On both the overlay and the interlaced image, obviously.

Really if you want us to help you, you should’ve provided us with a viable link that explains this …
You google it once or have anyone that reads the thread google it themselves, unbeknown as to what they are googling … ? 
We know you know what you want, but you have to help us out… otherwise we’re guessing.
