New to lightburn. I tried a material test and not getting any difference in engrave but a few on the bottom row. I did a side by side comparison with xcs and its a world of difference. Left is LightBurn, right xcs.
Not a good comparison. Set the Lightburn Material Test for a 5x5 grid, 150 to 350 mm/s, and 20% to 60% power and see how it comes out. then you can make a comparison.
Hello, @cgarza here is an entire thread dedicated for X Tool S1 users on Lightburn Integration, you should be able to find help here.
Hope this helps ![]()
I see a definite difference difference between the 350/20 and the 150/20 burns. But go with what @AshNi said.
I’m testing a theory. In Lightburn, Settings(Gears icon)> Units and Grids, Change from mm/s to mm/min and rerun your test using the equivalent values of 9,000 mm/min to 21,000 mm/min.
What link do use for a iMac?
You are feeding from one one computer OS to a different one?
No there are like 6 different files I don’t know which one to download
What version of Lightburn are you currently using? If it’s 1.7 or above, going backwards to an old Beta doesn’t make any sense to me since the official release should contain any patches that were in the Beta.
Did you try what I suggested above?
I have version 1.7.01 I have not tried it yet. I will tonight when I get home and let you know what the results are.
Good!
I think Xtool does not interpret mm/s from Lightburn correctly. Leave it in mm/min and you should be good.
It interprets mm/s fine. Now any inch units. Right out.
Stick to metric and things should work.
Except he was using mm/s and it wasn’t working, so I suggested changing to mm/min and it worked for him. IDK?
That could be. So the next time he hits the inch button to work on his design he would be back in the same boat. Might be worth some experimenting. I don’t have an Xtool machine.
Carlos, Ashwini make a good point.
When you have a minute I would like you to do a couple experiments. First, change the dimension settings to inches by clicking the button and rerun the material test using the same parameters. In other words speeds will be at mm/min but interval will be in inches, then change your settings to mm/s and make sure dimensions are in mm and run using your original speeds and post the results. That wil help to determine if the problem is the speed, mm/s vs mm/min, or the dimensions in inches or mm.
Thanks. I will do the testing this weekend and post results.
