Monport 30w Fiber using Chuck Rotary

Hi! I am running Win10 w LB v1.2.04 and Monport Fiber 30w the 80mm Chuck Rotary. The fiber side works great!

Since this is the first time trying to use the rotary, I might have a hardware failure, but that’s unclear right now. I have tried multiple different Steps per Rotation setups, both from the factory and from the US Based support guy. I got the same result both times. When the Test button is clicked, the chuck moves about .2-.3mm, stops and vibrates for about 5 seconds, then the rotary stops vibrating.

I haven’t opened up the Monport case yet, and I am waiting for a response from the support team.

Has anyone had this issue?

Many thanks!

The vibration you’re hearing is the motor skipping steps because you tried to move it too fast.

The setup for the rotary includes the following:

The first value is the number of steps to take to make a full rotation. The motor speed settings then tell the system how many steps per second to move, and how fast to get up to speed.

Can you show us what those settings are for your system? It’s possible that your max speed is too high, or the acceleration time isn’t long enough. If your chuck or item is particularly heavy, you might need to lower the speeds, or increase the accel time.

I made a small video as well, but I couldn’t figure out how to attach it

You can’t attach vids here directly. You have to put it on YouTube, DropBox, etc, then link here.

Your speeds don’t seem unreasonable, but try increasing the accel time to 300ms, and drop the min speed to 50.
