I use my Sainsmart L8 40W to cut out labels for making pens. The cutting part works well but correctly positioning the cutout box over a label has proven difficult. The labels are cut out from an A size sheet. The graphics are placed at certain positions on the sheet, and the cut out box is placed centrally over the graphics. I need to place the sheet on the bed such that when I tell the laser to move to the selected cut out box it is in the correct position to cut out the label. My laser has limit switches and always homes when turned on. The sheet layout is such that the lower left corner should be at the machine origin of X0 and Y0. I do this using the scales on the bed. However, when I position the laser by selecting the cut out box, and use Move Laser to Selection it is close but not exactly where I want it. The attached file shows the layout and the position of the graphics and cut out box.

A couple things come to mind. The first being calibration of your axes. As a test create a 100mm square and engrave it in line mode and then measure with calipers to see if your output matches the 100mm. If not, you need to perform calibration.
Second, if I’m understanding your file, the outline for the paper is not A4 size, it’s slightly under 8.5 x 11 which would be letter size. If I resize your outline and the grid together to A4 size (210x297) the graphic lines up much better. What does your paper actually measure.
The print and cut feature might be an option for this work.
Thanks for your response. The page is intended to be A size, and it is very close. It is close enough not to matter. I did a calibration when I first got the laser, and none of the work that I have done so far suggests that it is way out. When I try to move the laser to the desired position it is close, but not close enough, and I have to jog by 1mm at a time to try and get close. I will look into Print and Cut. The bed is self- locating inside the enclosure, but I will check to make sure that it has not moved.
I don’t know if I understood correctly, but I think I would do it by saving those positions in move window, then you can move the laser there. But maybe I got the problem wrong.
