My 254 is just a bit short of a 1911 gvmt length slide. There is an option to maximize work area, basically makes a circle instead of a square. Set up your lens again with a different name, and select that. Basically the same results as if you turned your engraving corner to corner.
There is also the option to uncheck “Ignore out of bounds…” and yor laser will try it’s best to squeeze you out a little more range.
Best practice with slides I usually just break the engravings up at the serrations and sites and use smallest lens possible.
Can you take a look at my settings again? I’ve changed my lens to a 300 x 300 and have followed all the instructions to reset everything, but my framing of what I want to engrave is warped.
Hello
I don’t think you ran the 9 point correction (correctly) after you set up the new lens. Rarely would (Almost) all the numbers be 1.000. So reset the galvo 2 skew to 0, run the 9 point, then the scale utility. Then measure corner to corner and manually tweak the skew if necessary. Then adjust the red dot corrections. Then do timing and delay. Frame speed should be around 3000, adjust to what you like best.
