New laser controller RDC6442G-B (EC)

Hello laser community I have a Orion OmTech 60 watt Laser that the controller gave out replaced with new controller RDC6442G-B (EC) same as the old one. Laser now won’t work. All settings are backwards up is down, down is up, left is right, right is left on the controller screen. When I start laser up starts making noises then the laser head starts slamming into the wall of the machine. Can someone help me out I would appreciate

These are generic controllers and work with lots of different equipment. When it’s shipped from the factory the manufacturer of your machine programs many of the variable that are specific to your machine.

The suggested method is, if you can still connect to the old controller, read these settings and then write them to your new controller. This is the best option.

You might give the Load Prefs Backup a try.

I have a China Blue 50W machine from OMTech with a 6442g controller … Homes upper/left – here is my oldest copy of the machines vendor settings. It’s had a few upgrades, so I would double check the acceleration values at minimum…

Use at your own risk.

You can get it a shot, can’t be worse than you are now. Edit → Machine Settings and you can load it.

Sing out if you still have issues.

No I can’t connect to the old controller it gave out only one light turns and the controller screen says controller connecting but never does

Sometimes these are, like in a coma, they work internally, but it’s difficult to communicate with them.

If you used usb, then see if it will connect, it not and you have the ability try Ethernet. I assume you have more lights now?

If it’s just dead and won’t communicate, then I’d suggest the backed up settings, then my .lbset file.

I’d love to take one apart, where are you located? I’m in the middle of Arizona.

Hello I got the old controller to connect. How do I get the settings from it I don’t want to turn off until I get the settings just in case it don’t turn back on

Edit → Machine settings – it should read when it’s invoked, then use the save button to save it to some well named file on your computer.

Use the same mechanism to load it then write it to the new controller.

Make sense?

Please don’t double post.. I understand you didn’t want to turn it off but it really slows down response time, confuses users and others trying to help you.
