OMTech fiber laser contoller compatibility

Hello everyone!

I have been using an OMTech 30W fiber laser with no issues for the past two or three years. Recently the controller board died and due to time constraints I don’t have time to wait on a new one to show up. I am considering swapping with a slightly different board but there is a question about how the laser source handles LASERST alarm signals.

I currently have a BJJCZ FLBI-B-LV4 board and I am considering a JCZ FB/SZLI-B-LV7A board as a replacement.

Does anyone here have experience with board retrofits? I would really appreciate any advice you folks have. Thank you!

I saw this back in January. Also documentation mentions jumpers as it is a universal (Somewhat) board.

Lightburn compatibility with the new JCZ FB/SZLI-B-LV7A EXCAD2 board - rotary not working

Hi, Just got the new JCZ FB/SZLI-B-LV7A EZCAD 2 control board and i am not able to use the Rotary interface. using the pinout per the board documentation connecting pins 13gnd, 14xdir, 15xpul on CON4 to a DM542. when commanding a move there is no movement from the stepper motor. I did verify the stepper motor and DM542 are working with a UMC4 laser control, the only thing changed in the setup is the control wires from the DM542 to the LVA7 board. no errors reported at all and the JPT MOPA laser …

that’s at least something! Thank you! Looks like the LV7A is really designed to be a generalist board with some wider cross-compatibility.

Just curious… Does anybody have experience using the LV7A with a Raycus source?
