Ortur alarms and out of bounds warnings

I have two problems and I am not sure what is causing either one. I am using a Mac mini with the latest software and all new high quality USB cables. I have two lasers a Yora At Home 6550 3w which generally runs perfect but still shows the out of bounds all the time. And I have a new Ortur 20W which is the problem I am constantly getting the out of bounds and also getting an alarm 2 or alarm 4. I am including first the Grbl then the tech support readoutI had just completed one 4x4 tile and I noticed it stopped and did not go back to where it started or go home. Then I had to restart the Ortur and then click devices to bring up the screen and select the Ortur again. Once I did that everything appeared correct. The fire button worked and I set my next tile to be produced and clicked on start. A warning came up that said cut might be out of bounds-continue anyways yes or no. I select yes and it immediately hets the alarm 2 and does not move. I was using current position, I then tried user origin with the same results. I get the same out of bounds on all three including absolute coordinates. The problem with absolute coordinates is I do not know how to set it to start where I want it to start on the xy axis.

ALARM:2 is an out of bounds warning - You have set the job to slam the laser into the sides, or at the very least the laser thinks that is what’s happening, and it’s prevented you from doing so.

On the Ortur, this is always from users running in ‘Current Position’ or ‘User Origin’ modes without realizing what those mean. Run in ‘Absolute Coords’ mode and read here to understand why:

With the Yora, if it has homing switches then it’ll be the same as the Ortur. If it doesn’t, you’ll need to manually zero it, which you can read about here, toward the bottom: Configuring a 3018 CNC for use with LightBurn

Generally speaking, there’s no need to include support data unless we request it.

Its set to Absolute Coords

Then you most likely chose ‘XCarve’ or ‘Shapeoko’ when you set up the machine, and used the ‘Use Laser’ macro. In the console, after connecting to the machine, type the following in the console:

$#

If the line that starts with “[G54:” shows anything other than a bunch of zeros, you have an offset programmed, likely because you chose the a machine you don’t have. To clear that, type this command:

G10 L2 P1 X0 Y0

I’m having the same issue. My machine is convinced that a spot around X:77, Y:378 is out of bounds. I’m using absolute coords and checked with $# as suggested above- all zeros. I can jog past this area and have the machine move all the way up to Y:800 but keep getting the Alarm 2 when trying to burn in the area.
