I have been using my new laser and noticed that when I try to focus the laser it appears to be a rectangular laser beam? I am having difficulties burning lines or surroundings around things that are even in the x and y directions. Focusing using th efire button at 1.0 on a black surface but am unable to get the laser beam small and tight?
Ortur sells lenses that you can use to produce different focus including more rounded. People frequently buy the G7 and G8 for it.

That is normal. Diode lasers produce a rectangle. Not a problem. Do like you are doing… I set “fire” to 0.25 power and focus on small black paper. focus to the smallest dot/rectangle you can. All is OK.
