Ortur laser Master 3 stopping mid-project

I purchased the laser master 3 about 3 months ago and to date, I’ve not been able to complete a single project. The laser machine stops mid project every single time. I have an iMac (3,4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, Ventura 13.0.1). These are the things I’ve tried (and failed):

  • Manually added the GBRL laser to lightburn
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled lightburn
  • Updated Lightburn
  • Changed my USB cable to a high speed one
  • Tried connecting directly to the computer and via a USB hub
  • Made sure there are no other devices/appliances etc. plugged into the same plug point
  • made sure the power source is of a good quality.
  • Moved the laser to another surface just in case the current surface wasn’t stable
  • Made sure USB ports don’t sleep
  • Tried engraving multiple mediums and different picture formats.
  • Checked my setup with the technician that the company I purchased the laser from allocated to me

I was asked to disable mass USB storage but I don’t have the option to delete the extension nor can I access it in profile manager because this has been deactivated by Apple. Help please…Thanks in advance

I had the same but not all the time, look at this video on YouTube, although it is for a PC it may help, it did for me - (6) ORTUR Laser Master 3, Connection Problem Solved! - YouTube

Thanks so much…but Im using an iMac and this option is not available on Apple. In fact, there isnt any option on my iMac to disable USB mass storage.

Looks like I may have found the issue…after 3 months of trial and error. Turns out the Ortur Laser Master 3 requires an SD card to dump cache. I didn’t receive one in my package and none of the notice boards or community forums mentioned anything about this. After inserting an SD card in the machine, I am now able to complete my projects.

Was there any error issued in Console without the SD card in? It’s interesting that it worked part of the time until the SD card was required. I had thought systems that required SD card either worked or did not so an interesting revelation.

But in any case, the presence of a card should be apparent to the controller and I would expect it to be able to report out on it if required. If you can check what that looks like it would be helpful to others.
