We have an ortur master 3 and it was working perfectly but i month ago it started to give issues. If we engraved it had connection and then in the middle of the project it will surf to the right and mess up the image the same happend when we do cuts. We never used a SD card in it. But we did put one in with the firmware that we download from Ortur website. Now it is showing a white light when you power on but then change to blue and the x-axis does not move and it makes a sound.
I hope someone can help us figure out what the problem is.
I might be mistaken, but what you did when you inserted the SD card with the firmware was what’s called a “firmware flash,” meaning you reloaded the firmware.
Is that what you did?
If so, the firmware would have to be specifically for your machine; otherwise, several problems could arise, including this one.
Did you consult Ortur support before inserting the SD card with the firmware?
What I suggest for now, so that it can be evaluated, is to start the Lightburn software and connect it to the machine, type $$ in the “Console” window, press the enter key, and either copy and paste the data here or take a screenshot with all the parameters visible and post it here so that it can be consulted.
Hi Kuth i did send Ortur support an email regarding our problem but until now have not yet received any feedback. When i get the house i will try the above as mentioned. I am not sure what we did but my husband said we did not use the SD card since we had the machine so it might be possible that it is “Firmware flash”. Will post screen shot of the concole tonight.
Although there are parameters there that I believe are specific to ORTUR, in my opinion, at least, parameters $110 and $111 are too high for a diode laser machine. In this seat it is at 4000 (it is low(ish) because I want) and represents the speed in mm/min.
I don’t want to go into too much detail because I’m not an expert on the subject, but in my opinion this configuration is not specific to the machine you have.
I would wait for answers from the brand (I would insist at least once a week if I don’t get an answer before) or for answers from someone more knowledgeable on the subject and with more time to assess the issue than I have. Which, as you can see from the delay in the response, is not very long, so I apologize for only responding now.
Is the blue light steady, or blinking?
It might want to tell us something. Blinking blue twice would indicate a “Motor Drive”, for example:
From the Manual :
Is it really the X-axis that doesn’t move? (Left and right)
If it’s the Y-axis, you might just need to flip this switch to the “Y-Motor” position:
Good day Aaron, i will do this tonight and send you the respons. Thank you for all. The Y-axis is not turning it is vibrating but if we plug it in on the x axis cable it works. Dont know what else the problem can be.
Thanks! Both of my rotaries came with the crossover cable. Neither had instructions on its real purpose. I was wondering why it was included until I noticed the crossed wires on one end.
I’m not sure if what I’m about to say is correct, but I believe it has to do with which side the motor is facing.
For example: if the motor is on the left side, a crossover cable isn’t necessary, but if the motor is on the right side, a crossover cable is necessary.
Interesting observation, but [left side]-[right side] depends on which way you turn it. There is supposed to be a NEMA standard, but Chinese manufacturers do not always read it. It can also depend on how the controller board is built, where there is no standard at all.
The direction of rotation can also be reversed on the board.
However, this isn’t always as easy to do in all laser software as it is in Lightburn.
That’s why the crossover cable option is easier and less likely to alter parameters that aren’t supposed to be changed. (That’s me “thinking out loud”)
