I just loaded up Lightburn and it asks for a connected device.
I’m using Mach 3 on a stand alone machine with a Endurance 10Watt+ laser, Can Lightburn generate the G Code for me or do I have it all wrong.
Thanks

When I search “Mach3” on the forum, a number of topics already discuss compatibility:
I built a 1200mm x 1200 mm CNC Laser/Plasma/routing table that utilizes an STB4100 controller ran by Mach3. I use Solidworks with the HSMexpress plug-in to generate toopaths and G-code which is great for cutting and routing but I am looking for software that will engrave images much more seamless. Does anyone know if the NTB4100 board will work with Lightburn or do I need another board. I have looked into GRBL but I can’t find anything that supports external stepper drivers as my NEMA23s dra…
Hello,
I’ve downloaded the trial for the LightBurn software to try out and while I like the interface thus far, I can’t find a way to make it work with my machine.
The machine is a Probotix GX3750 CNC running LinuxCNC that has the 2.8 watt laser kit by J Tech. (J Tech’s site led me to LightBurn.)
The machine will load the the exported G-Code and the the stepping motors begin moving the laser around, but the laser simply doesn’t fire off. Upon investigating it seems this is mostly due to the c…

If you’re using Mach3 without an external controller, the spindle PWM doesn’t respond fast enough for laser work. If you’re just doing “on/off” it might be ok.
