Actually, it’s 0.05V on 1% power sorry.

Still need those images

Triple check this
make sure the multimeter is on DC 20V range

1% should really read 0.3xV
iddle should read dead 0V

Here are the photos of the belts

and heres the photo where I put multimeter (marked green) and I get 0.04 value on 20 V DC multimeter… And 0V iddle.

Can you measure the same at the laser head end cable?
In case something is induicing mid engrave
Also… test this with machine moving, as in run my same test, and unplug the laser head cable and measur there

Your belts seem ok. Y might need a little more tension but seems ok ish

On laser head end cable is the same as on the board.
While in movement, it’s 2.50 ( on your file that you have sent me )

i am quiet puzzled then
Is it still engraving traversal lines?

I have to try it, probably tomorrow.

See you then.

someone pointed out thanks @Mooseuk
That your $32 is set to 0 and should be 1
Which is correct.
$32=1 press enter

Then try

Okay, I will, btw thank you so much for this, I appreciate you a lot.

zero problems! see if we can figure this out!

No traversal lines this time but precision is a bit funky, probably because it’s not attached to my table, I mean I watch it while doing this test and it’s moving in the corners a tiny bit.

Better!
You can focus on the shape of the Y
Note
How the right hand side is “squeezed in”
This is because the Y movement has some backlash

you got to tighten your Y belts quite a bit more

The wiggles is normal if you are on a non solid bed, also the test is quite fast

Nothing useful to add here. I’m just enjoying watching the cooperation and progress. This is how a tech forum is supposed to function!

I am at work now but I will try it later today.

Btw, another question.
Why I can’t cut materials, I have tried 3mm MDF with low speed 100% power and it worked on like 7-8 pass.
Is that material too hard or is it my problem or it’s just my laser.

3mm MDF is not trivial to cut given its density and glues

What power isyour module?
Have you cleaned lense?
Focused a bit into the material?

also… define “slow”? 300mm/min (mind you mm/min NOT mm/sec)

5W, Laser Tree LT-40W-F23 model to be exact.
Not really.
Focused like the manual for laser said.

Slow like 80mm/min really :frowning:

seems reasonable passes for a 5W if i am honest
You can try to focus 1m into the materal and not at the surface

So, better to try plywood or smth soft like that ?

If that is a choice, most definitly!

I have tightened them up and I ran the test but it’s not visible better. Idk.

Btw, those two dots are from my previous test for something, dont worry haha
