I am seasoned with Epilog Laser but new to Lightburn and Boss Laser. I am engraving Rowmark. I exported a DXF from Fusion 360 and brought it into Lightburn. When I go to engrave it is making duplicate offset text engravings in X-axis and Vector cuts are making two passes although with no offset. In the attached you can see what I see in Lightburn and then what is actually engraving on the Rowmark. Can’t figure this out and any help is welcomed.

First, use cardboard until you figure this out. ![]()
This suggests a problem with the DXF file, because the file format has many variations and LightBurn can’t cope with all of them.
In addition to the screenshots for @JimNM , upload the offending DXF file and the corresponding lbrn2 file so we can look over your shoulder.
Another thing to look at is to change your raster image to a SVG. That may bypass the issues you are having for the import.
Select the inag, right click to open menu. Select TRACE, adjust sliders as needed and hit OK.
Generally, SVG will engrave much faster than a raster image will.
I usually do test with cardboard. Got lazy this time! Go figure!
Thanks for the suggestions. In Lightburn I highlighted and deleted all the RED layer objects. I then, within Lightburn, created the text. Still did the same thing. Seems so odd. Especially after creating it in LightBurn.
Turning out to be an Axis driver config issue with the Boss laser. Anyone else heard of this before?
It could be a really nasty version of the PWM Rising Edge Valid configuration gotcha:
Definitely let us know the rest of the story! ![]()
Turned out to two issues.
- The Backlash offset was not configured in Lightburn.
- the X-Axis driver was misconfigured. A) Dip switch 6 was wrong B) One stepper coil was wired backward.
Disappointing this was missed in QA before it shipped. That said, tech support was very helpful isolating the issue and getting it working.
