Red dot not switching on on Fiber Laser

Hi,
I have a MT Triangle MG-Ones Fiber laser that comes with SJT Cad. I’ve managed to import the settings into Lightburn, but I can’t get it to frame.
I’ve found people with similar issues, but I’ve tried setting the Red Port to all available options, both High and Low, but the red dot won’t switch on, no matter the setting. Also blanking enabled / disabled does not seem to make a difference.
When I start a framing in Lightburn, then start framing the same time in SJTCad, I do see both the Lightburn and SJTCad frames, so it seems to me that it is simply lightburn failing to switch on the red dot. Marking itself works from Lightburn, it is just the red dot that does not switch on.
The machine has a DBK21B-J1-V1 board, which other people seem to using with Lightburn with the red dot on port 0, but unfortunately that does not seem to work.
Are there any further settings I need to change to get it to work?
This is with the latest Lightburn version, using the auto detected BSLFiber type, with the user.cfg file imported from SJTCad.

As a last resort I tried an older version, and in version 2.0.05 it actually does work, and in version 2.1.00 it no longer works. Has anything changed that might have caused a regression on switching the red dot on, or something in the settings?

Suggest you look at the device settings and see how they compare, especially this section.

When I installed the older version, it copied the settings from 2.1, including the laser I created, so the settings are exactly the same between the old and new version. Without changing any of these settings, it works with the old version.

I’ll have to have someone else drop in as I’m not up on what’s new in 2.0 version and higher.

Maybe @Dominic will drop by. :folded_hands:

Hi @jkwilborn
Caught me at the very end of my day! I’ll take a look if I can later.

We need to compare the 2 device profiles from each version, the .lbrn project file, and a screenshot of the framing settings you are using. We need all the pieces in order to solve the puzzle. Feel free to email us @ support@lightburnsoftware.com, our support team is on different time zones.

See attached the files for the project and settings used, with the 2.0.05 being the working version, and 2.1.02 the non working version.
Please let me know if you require any further files.

We have a 2.2 version pre-release available. Can you test with that version to see if this is fixed? BSL provided an updated library for us to use with version 2.1, but broke a few things in the process, and I think this was one of the issues.

Thanks for letting me know, I’ve installed the pre-release version (2.2.00), but unfortunately the results are exactly the same as with the 2.1.x versions, the red dot does not appear when framing. The same settings do still work with 2.0.5. Is there a specific setting I might need to change in the 2.2 version?

Have you emailed support yet? We need to look at the settings in your device profile, not your project files. I’d like to review the manufacturer’s file you imported to create the device profile, and the support data from each of the two versions you are comparing.

Hi,
Yes I’ve send all requested files to support, the last I heard from there was that a bug report was created, but I haven’t received any updates on that ticket as of yet.
