Replace Honeycomb with Steel Sheet

On the underside is reflection burns, but nothing of significance that cannot be cleaned with alcohol.

When I use sandpaper (200+) it is to get a glating surface or to break the edges. You can’t grind yourself out of burns or running sod without going beyond the product tolerances, I won’t be able to assemble my lamps without glue, as I always do, if I had to grind. I also don’t have time for this kind of finishing.
NB. You also cannot grind 0.6 or 0.8mm without it being seen when the light in my lamps is turned on.
I use minimum airflow, no more air is needed at 3mm plywood.

I’ve found that small 10mm SS ball bearings work best for holding material off the bed surface and prevent nearly 100% of bed flashback.

Ball bearing, novel idea, round to reflect the flashback nice idea…

Yeh great idea, could you have a piece of ply countersunk for the balls to sit in.

If you have a steel square underneath, you could take the ball and tap a dent into the metal.

Super easy to clean & good airflow.

I like the novelty of using ball bearings, but I don’t see the win over “punk spikes” screwed to magnets. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a reflected mark since I’ve gone this route.
