For some reason pressing the “Fire” button or running Shift + “Frame” will disconnect the USB connection to the laser. It will sit there with the laser on and I can’t turn it off. I have to flip the off switch on the laser the unplug and re-plug in the USB cable and restart Lightburn to get them talking again.
Sometimes my USB mouse will also stop working temporarily during this time. Has anyone seen this before? Are there possible fixes available?
Thanks in advance!
Is the power supply to the laser working as expected? It almost sounds like when you enable the laser it’s drawing full power from your USB port. The only times I’ve encountered issues when firing the laser, it’s been from a broken or mis-wired component.
Thanks for the prompt reply. The power supply seems to be working fine. I had been having some intermittent disconnects when engraving but it seemed to be when the laser gantry was accelerating quickly back and forth. I lowered the max speed and acceleration by half and those disconnects seemed to go away but it consistently disconnects when I hit the fire laser button. I thought maybe it was a too low power issue but it happens from all the way up to 2.5%. I haven’t tried above that but it’ll start leaving a mark on wood going much higher.
