Seeing green light but laser not firing

Hello! Working on my first test burn and I’m missing some info. I’ve been going through the forums, but I can’t find the answer I need in order to solve this problem. I have managed to set up the laser and it moves properly. I am creating a basic rectangle and sending it to burn. The laser moves and we see a green light. but nothing burns. I am working on plywood. I have changed the max values to up to 60% and I have changed $32 to 1 but nothing burns. Enable fire laser button is on.

Thanks for your help

Is the laser focused correctly on the material? How fast were you trying to engrave?

Hello Oz,

Right now, I’m just learning to use lightburn and didn’t get to the part about how to focus the laser or the laser speed. There’s a bit of a learning curve and I’m trying to follow all the necessary steps. I have no idea how to focus the laser. I’ll try and find a video that covers that. I do see a green light appear on the wood and it does trace the outline, but it doesn’t leave a burn mark. More testing and learning today. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

This may help: How do I turn on my diode at low power to focus it or frame a job?
