Selective filling?

Hi all,

I have a logo that I wanted to laser engrave. The logo is imported from Adobe Illustrator to Lightburn, as can be seen below. Selecting the ‘Mode’ to ‘Fill’ and previewing it shows almost the complete logo filled. I want only the shapes to be filled in. Is there a way to select which object is to be filled within Lightburn, or should I make some modification in Adobe Illustrator? Also, previewing with the ‘Mode’ on ‘Line’ it shows only the lines as expected.

Looks like that is what you have achieved. All shapes are filled, but I think I understand what you are trying to accomplish. You will need to adjust the artwork to define where the fill starts and stops. LightBurn has a very specific way of defining this, which you need to apply to get the results you are looking for.

If you want to invert a vector engraving (Fill layer) you need to add an outline to it. Think about what happens when you scan a circle, compared to the letter ‘O’. The inner ring of the O toggles the fill.
