The update light burn for a we creat laser

Hi Aron, when I run the focal point test it starts off fine but as soon as a “move Z” command is given the head goes all the way up to maximum height.

I believe someone have already told Wecreat but not sure, I posted a device almost 2 years back :slight_smile:

@chrisfulcher maybe you would want to make the Z Offset Default to all Layers, the Wecreat site have some tips:

See if enabling “Relative Z Moves only” in the Device Settings helps.

Hi Aron we are getting the same results, I have tried multiple iterations and my vision P will not execute any Z steps per pass operations, I have not gone back tot the WeCreat SW, but I remember reading (paraphrasing from an old memory) somewhere that this function was a “propriety add-on directly controlled in the material selection portion of the SW and linked to to the LIDAR function of the laser”.

From wecreat using Z stepdown with LB - Multi-Pass Drops (Beam Assist): Because the Z-axis is unlocked via the configuration file, entering a negative value (e.g., -1.0 mm) into the Z-Step per pass box on your cut layer will automatically step the motor downward on consecutive laps without needing custom macros

Is this configuration is a crash waiting to happen?

I am assuming though again these Z step per pass moves are calibrated to the focal distance only and will inhibit any more Z moves past the known focal length of the laser? Focal length in this case being the height above the work piece as set by the LIDAR.

And just as a general update, the vision pro has been banging out product using lightburn for 2 days straight without a single issue using a range of materials and thicknesses, mind you I do not go any more than 6mm - 7mm thickness material, I do the thicker material cuts on my Co2 laser.

This is interesting. I couldn’t find this setting in WeMakeIt. Do you have a link to where you found this information?

  1. While still inside the layer settings menu, type the exact thickness of your stock into the Material Thickness (mm) box.
  2. Set your Number of Passes based on material density (e.g., 2 passes for 12mm pine, 4 passes for deep hardwood).
  3. In the Z step per pass (mm) input box, define how far the machine should physically sink after each loop.
    • Recommended Step: Input 0.5 mm to 1.0 mm per pass. This moves the condensed 45W focal point directly into the center of the fresh wood groove on each pass, mimicking the “Enhanced Cutting” feature from WeCreat’s native software.

The AI seems to be halucinating here.
I don’t see an option for a “Z Step per pass” in MakeIt.
