Thoughts on Fiber Laser

Looking at fiber lasers, have diode laser works well with Lightburn but not sure if Lightburn will work with a fiber laser any ideas?

Yes Lightburn can operate a galvo laser but you will need to purchase an additional license key for $90

Check on Atomstack. Good machines I have two and doing fine. I have a fiber laser from Atomstack but have not set it up yet.

Is that this one… the M4?

I think the lasing occurs in the fiber, unlike this machine.

What do you use for software?

Is this machine Lightburn certified? Or are you forced to use the Chinese software. From what I can tell the machine is good but software sucks.

One of them was advertised for $1499, didn’t look for a difference.

I might be mistaken, but it didn’t look like a fiber laser to me from the parts diagram.

Here’s a review video for the Atomstack M4 Fiber.
Atomstack M4 Fiber Laser

the unit you posted about is a specialized unit, it is used as a mobile to add bar codes to equipment, due to it’s size and ease of handling. The pro A20 is a bed laser that comes with their most powerful laser that they currently have out on the market. You mentioned fiber laser, which is a specialty laser. it is a different process. Fiber is for metal engraving, diode which is used more for creating engraving on common products, tile, wood, glass…Other people can tell you about what they have and use. I am not employed, paid or get gifts from Atomstack. It is what I have so what I am familiar with. And the A20 is less money, I use Light Burn with my lasers and have only had problems with operator error.

What is it you want to do with a laser set-up?
Have you considered co2 lasers? I know nothing about them except I got a link from a guy that posts videos as a lot of people do, They appear to be more expensive, but is about all I know about it. But if you do decide on CO2 I will give you the link to one he reviewed and the special price he offered may still be vialable ot was a unit for $500.

Co2 ? Can you post a link?

They refer to it as a fiber laser, I didn’t see any fiber…

Atomstack has Diode and fiber lasers. A20pro comes with their most powerful diode, the fiber laser is another $500. The link to the CO2 is buried in my desktop email and it is dead waiting for motherboard to get here tomorrow. I should be able to get that link to you couple days. I don’t know much of anything about CO2 expect they need cooler to operate a it’s best. look at omtech has couple for $500, but out of stock, I looked at K40 and they have 4 under $500.

I found the company it is 6% OFF code “MONPORT” on all machines. Just search MONPORT for them I saw at least 3 close to or under $500. Good luck!
