Tips on optimizing fill settings?

Hi!
Spent hours trying to get the settings right for fill engraving. Either I get it too burnt or too light or dark edges or a line right in the middle of the engraving. Is there some kind of test one can run that can be done to quickly realize correct settings to be used?

Depending on the laser you have, you’ll need to alter the speed or power settings used here, but this is a good starting point:
