Trace line spacing

I do a lot of cutting of Basswood on my 33W Atomstack X30 - mostly using the “Trace” function in LightBurn. In many instances though, the spacing between the lines of the trace is narrow and I would like to have the line gap wider. Even though I put most graphic files that I’m going to trace into Photoshop and then enhance it to the best of my ability, when I use trace in LightBurn, in many instances, the spacing between the lines that are going to get cut are very/too narrow - and when I try and pop out the wood pieces between the cuts, it breaks on those narrow areas. I would like to know if there’s a methodology for widening the spacing between the cut lines of an image after the trace has been selected.

Depending on what you’re trying to do, I can think of two methods:

  1. If you want to make the entire design thicker, you can use Offset to do that.
  2. If you want to adjust a portion of the design, you can use Edit Nodes to adjust the lines.

I traced outlines on Vellum paper, scanned to a PDF, imported into Lightburn, and then applied Trace to get the cut pattern. I found fat lines worked better to Trace, and Node Edit fixed the weaker sections.

Trace and fix seems to be the only option. Or fix the original image.
