The newest update 2.1.0 has changed all my Lightburn settings.
I also updated this morning to 2.1. Multiple issues including yours. I just rolled back to 2.0.5. Everything working fine
Many issues here as well. I can no longer specify a negative Z offset greater than -3.9370. Bad upgrade. I don’t recommend.
How do we roll back? I shouldn’t have updated I was in the middle of a 250 cup order! Please help!
All previous releases are here
Thank you. Since it re set all my settings do you know if I go back will it keep the new settings for my files? The main problem I’m having is that it’s duplicating part of my design and now it’s taking double the time to make a cup!
I had no issues with the RC but this release does have issues. All my cut settings are changed and the display resolution is wonky. It can be changed of course in the program but this message still pops up each time. If you click accept the resulting UI fonts are super tiny! Click accept and the changes I made to adjust are displayed.
You could roll back to a previous version then load a backup as shown below
Where you able to roll back install?
@Tjackson thank you for reporting. If willing, providing more specifics would allow us to potentially find and resolve this issue.
When you say “settings”, what did you find has changed? For example, “all files were in metric and now show in inches.” or “I open a file, and all the art is now flipped.”
Any further details appreciated. ![]()
If willing to share the specifics of what “multiple issues” means, we can take a closer look. To resolve any issue with a release, the details of exactly what you experience are essential. ![]()
Thank you for reporting, @madrabbit. We want to assist with the “many issues”, yet without greater detail, resolution becomes near impossible.
That’s “-3.9370” inches, correct? You haven’t specified the units. This specific limit, Z Offset, is not new and is also in version 2.0.05. If willing, please tell us more about this use case where the machine used requires almost 4" of negative travel. ![]()
I too had many issues after updating to 2.1. I had to roll back to the previous version, now all works again.
I have installed this update on my Mac M4, my laser is a Xtool D1 Pro 20 Watt. I have been using Lightburn for a couple 3 years now with no problem,
This version (2.1) when I have a graphic (PNG) to burn and i go and hit the start button in the software the program crashes. Is there a setting somewhere I need to change??
I have installed Lightburn Core 2.0.02 to be able to keep working..
Folks, we really appreciate reports of unexpected behavior, but the details are critical for us to address reported issues. While we understand, using words like “all” or “many” without further explanation doesn’t really help us find and resolve issues.
Please provide as much detail as possible.
LightBurn should not crash. Thank you for drawing our attention, @Bigfoot. We want to see any crash reports generated, so please email support@lightburnsoftware.com and include a link to this thread for context and review.
Thanks - I heard back from support already and this was a change in units. I need to back off 30mm, not inches. This upgrade changed all of my device and interface settings, which apparently was by design and not a flub.
I’ve already rolled back but one issue was my cut speed and power. Laser would not cut and speed stayed fast no matter the numbers. My apologies for not screenshotting all settings as I went through and tried to correct myself I was in the middle of multiple jobs that needed to be done did not have time to do extensive troubleshooting.
Ah, we understand. Thank you for providing a bit more. ![]()
We have discovered the root cause of the unexpected Units change. We’re currently testing a fix internally and plan to offer a patch release shortly. For now, we offer the following to help folks move forward.
Yes, I was able to revert back to a previous version. When I upgraded all my cut and engrave settings on all current and previous projects were removed and replaced with random numbers that would have never worked. I use this for my business and I don’t have the time to go back to every file and correct them with the proper settings. This upgrade most certainly caused issues. I think I’ll wait for a couple of upgrades before I go thru this again. This was the second upgrade that has done this.
