I have a monport k40 and it was connecting before but now will not. I have tried several cables. Monport sent me a new motherboard since they could not fix and it still will not connect. I’ve done all the basics: start/restart, try different ports, adapters, reset and manually enter new GBRL. USB will not show in the com selection. I only get Port failed to open. I have installed and reinstalled the driver they sent me several times. No luck. I’ve also tried digging through all the forums for similar threads and find no answers.
Lightburn, like most applications, communicate to the usb via the OS. For Lightburn to find it, it has to be visible to the OS…
Check your OS and identify the machine in the device manager. I’m not sure where to look on a Mac. I have installed lsusb and that lists all of the devices connected to the usb hubs.
Does your windows beep or make a noise when a usb is plugged in?
