Use of camera without full view on bed possible?

Hi everyone,

I am planning to build an enclosure for my Xtool D1 laser with extension (bed size 936x432mm). Due to several reasons, I can only make the total height of the enclosure about 380mm, too low too alow the lightburn wide angle camera to see the full bed (the helpful camera selection tool also shows I need at least 550mm)

My question therefore is; as I will mostly use a small portion of the entire bed, is it still possible (and worth it) to use a camera which only sees a smaller portion (lets say 432x432)?

Will I be able to properly calibrate the camera on a smaller portion and still be able to use the full bed for larger prints?

Thanks a lot!

I am sorry if this question was answered before. Couldn’t find anything specific on this, other than the (helpful) FAQ which states the importance of the minimum height from the bed.

Note that I just want to know whether I can use lightburn with the full bed size and calibrate the camera on a smaller portion (so camera is only usable on smaller part)
