I have been attempting to get fully switched over to LB with my WeCreat Vista. I have used LB for more than 7 years. I noticed that when I do use LB with the Vista the safety switche for the lid being up is ignored.
Generally speaking error information comes from the controller. Lightburn usually just displays the error. On my Ruida, you can disable door and water errors.
It’s generally something that isn’t modified by Lightburn… I don’t know about Wecreat specifically.
I was wondering if there was a GRBL parameter for turning this on or off. Although it is entirely within the controller, the detection might be set to off. This is what I found…
For a WeCreat Vista, which uses a GRBL-based controller, the door-open feature is a hardware safety switch that triggers a FEEDHOLD state. There is no single user-configurable GRBL parameter to turn this function on or off. It is an internal firmware and hardware feature, and it cannot be easily changed or bypassed.
When it goes into the FEEDHOLD state, the controller has to tell Lightburn it has stopped. Apparently it is not doing this.
Mike is correct, we found out about the existence of the WeCreat Vista, when it was already launched and were not informed about the requirements and changes compared to the WeCreat Vision.
Which WeCreat firmware version is installed on your laser’s controller?
Can you send us your device profile, so we can see your current settings in LightBurn?
Click on the “Devices” button in the Laser window, select the device and hit “Export”. Attach the .lbzip file here.
Can you confirm, that everything is working with your current setup, except for the safety switch?
I will get you the device profile tomorrow, Friday 9/5. I wish that was the only issue. The last time I used it all fans turned off during a burn. exhaust, and both laser head cooling fans. I checked the GRBL settings in LB and all looked good. This issue is more dire than the safety switch. I am wise enough to not expose myself to the beam or the reflected beam.
I tested and used the laser with Makeit and there were no issues with the fans; all three ran normally.
Hi Aaron,
Thanks for your help. I now experienced another issue. I am connected to the laser and LB does a camera refresh and looks good. However, what I call the “busy indicator” stays at 100%. When I try to do anything else it does not work. When I shutdown LB I get the error message “you are streaming to your device, are you sure you want to quit” or similar. It appears that the camera comm is not terminating as when I put my hand in the material area it show up in the camera preview window. I look forward to hearing from you.
