Not real happy with the compatibility with X-Tool S1. Score lines randomly go diagonal. And now the laser is scoring when I’m framing with the laser on. It just started doing that recently.
And I believe Lightburn used to have actual support. But now that seems to be gone from the page. Can’t get help from X-Tool. Can’t get help from Lightburn. Trying to run a business and my vendors abandon me.
And then XTool changed how their firmware works, without the honesty of telling anybody.
Perhaps the most recent LightBurn beta for XTool machines will improve the situation:
AFAICT, most sellers say that their machines work fine with their own control software, so when their firmware stops being compatible with anything else, hey, it’s Not Their Problem. It’s apparently a business decision, nothing personal. 
I fully agree with Ed, you can blame xTool for it, but not LightBurn. If xTool complied to standards, there would be no problem, but they never did. That’s why I don’t use their lasers (though they are interesting from a technical perspective). So if you have a business and base it on xTool hardware, use the xTool software as well. 
I guess that is what they will tell you.
I’m happy to test the public beta. I downloaded and installed 1.7 from the link. Now the software reports the license key is expired. How can I get a key that will work while I test this version?
