this is what my camera looks like now after i did the update to 1.7.00. the camera was working perfect right before this update, now this is the view when i update overlay.
not sure how to make this right again.
Any help would be great.

We did a major update of OpenCV, and some old camera calibrations donāt seem to be valid anymore. If you right-click on the camera view and āExport Camera Settingsā and send us that file, I can look into it.
Unfortunately the only sure way to fix this is to recalibrate and realign your camera. The calibration process has been improved, and our testing indicates the new calibration should be backwards-compatible with the prior version. (but they were also supposed to be forwards-compatible, and we see how well that worked in your case, Iām sorry.)
will do not sure where to send it i will attach it here, if you have an email i can send it that way as well.

thank you
This is fine, and thank you for providing.
ok thank you. should i calibrate the camera again or wait for you?
@JediJeremy will need time to look at what you have shared. To get going now, yes, Iād suggest running the calibration and alignment procedures again as Jeremy identifies.
there is definitely something a bit weird in your fileā¦ it says that you have a 3264x2448 cameraā¦ but the calibration ācamera matrixā has numbers which Iād expect to see for an 800x600 sensorā¦
Itās as if the camera was calibrated in 800x600, and has since upgraded itself to a higher resolution, so the old numbers donāt work no more.
Fortunately we have new logic than can ārescaleā calibrations. Therefore I have manually modified your camera settings file with a total guess as to the correct original resolution.
Probably a bad guess, but it may help diagnose the issue.

Doing a full recalibration/realignment is still the ultimate way to fix everything. (I recommend trying the new AprilTag pattern rather than the dots)
Also there is a new feature where if you hover over the camera name drop-down, you will get some diagnostic information about the current settings that might be helpful.
okay thanks for all the help im getting the recalibration done right now
I have a theory, did you:
(1) have multiple cameras connected
(2) pick the āwrongā camera at first (which happened to be a higher res camera) and then select the correct camera?
Because this is the first time you ran 1.7 (and we have to ādefaultā certain new settings on first run) we were assuming youād have the same camera picked as last time.
OK yeah we found the weak logicā¦ we assume the FIRST camera thatās chosen for a device after you start 1.7 is the CORRECT camera. That was silly.
That initial choice is when the cameraSizeX
and cameraSizeY
settings get backfilled, and if theyāre wrong (because you picked the wrong camera, even briefly) that causes the crazy warpingā¦ which you canāt fix without reverting those settings.
Iām working on a bugfix that will provide an option to āresetā old calibrations to the current camera, so you can remake that choice after-the-fact. Hopefully that will be released within days.
Until then, a bad solution is to edit the camera settings JSON file to set the correct resolution (as I tried to do) and re-import.
Hi i am having the same issue, i can no longer use my camera it is just a blank screen
My camera only does 720p, now lightburn tries to display my camera at a higher pixel so it will not work, lightburn says the prefix is 1920x1080 how do i lower it please
Iām having the same issue as Bjorn with the camera showing only blank screen after installing the 1.7.00 update. I had saved the download of my previous ver. 1.6.03 and was able to install that and camera was working again. Hopefully someone can come up with a solution to this problem as I would like to use the new 1.7.00 update.
I just logged in to report the same problem. Am I to understand that the best solution is to recalibrate the camera or will there be some fix soon?
id did the calibration and alignment again, this fixed my issue.
again thank to all with such fast and awesome help.
I have the same problem. No picture from the camera. Had to reinstall the order version again.
@Bjornotto, @SteveT1, @gemart, @kruworkz and @Kent3;
We are working to resolve with an 1.7.01 update due soon. Until then,
Thank you. Unfortunately for my problem I canāt do the alignment because there is no video, the screen is blank. I had to switch back to the older version to get the video to work. I Will Wait for the update, hopefully that will take care of my issue.
Omtech Polar user. My camera got out of whack on the 1.7 updateas well. I have been recalibrating and alignng it now for close to 8 hours. I canāt get it correct to save my life. It is off by like 10 mm
They need to put in an option to change resolution as my camera is only 720p and lightburn now only uses 1080p min and you cant change it, my cameras are all now not usable because of this. On the old version it would work with 720p
