Connection issue. “Find my Laser” finds nothing

I’m hoping one of you LightBurn Gurus can help me.
Yes, I have been watching the introductory videos. That’s how I learned about “Find my Laser”. I see on a list somewhere that the 3018 CNC is shown as supported. I have a 3018 Pro with a LUMYEE 5.5W laser. I have been having no problems using this setup with this same laptop using LaserGRBL so I’m pretty sure the laser is connected OK but in LightBurn “Find My Laser” does not find it. Maybe I need a driver for LigthBurn? Although I remember from one of the videos that if I need a drives LightBurn will tell me. I tried one of the connection suggestions about disabling the auto off for the USB connections. That made no difference.
When I first started LightBurn I filled out a form with information about my laser but when I tried connecting my 3018 to LightBurn it immediately crashed the head into the right rear corner, even though I did not select the homing option. I have never used homing and I don’t have limit switches. I have only used manual location.
So the Device Discovery Wizard window is currently open on my screen with the Device info showing blank.
I notice the console shows some lines of text relating to my 3018, I presume.
It says:
[VER1.1f,20170801:]
[OPT:V,15,128]
Target buffer size found
Ok

Otherwise I have no idea how to find the firmware numbers for any of these devices.

Also note, Windows is an alien environment for me. I’m a Mac user. My 27” iMac is not suitable for my workshop. Otherwise I use iPad. This Windows laptop was given to me by my brother. I’m struggling with Windows as much as anything else.

Also, I normally use this laptop offline so if it is important for some reason during normal use that I need to be connected please let me know. I am using my iPad to communicate with the forum.

Thank you
Brian

You may just have to create device manually.
Lightburn sees your device, but you may have to manually set things up.

What are the parameters that need to be defined in a device setup?

If you´re 3018 has a pendant and you had not disconnect it from your 3018 now is a god time to do it , to control over USB.
Also check the following docs:

Read the 3018 Pro manual for instructions.
Pay attention to the following:

.
and a bit info regarding sizes:

What is a “pendant”?

It´s a device used to manually jog the machine, read SD-cards etc

OK, Thanks. Yes, I do have one of those but have never used it. It is not connected. Still in the box.
