Dot width question

Hello,

I am new to lightburn and fiber laser engraving.

Can someone help me understand dot width? If I am marking on image on coins, is it better to leave ‘adjust dot width’ disabled?

Am I right in thinking that when enabled, the larger to number means the laser emits a smaller dot size? In theory, according to me, the larger the number means more details when burning a photo (as long as it’s smaller than the interval). Am I right?

Thank you, everyone for any help in understanding this

Vicky

Take a look at this post where Oz explains how it works.

Suggest you watch this video by Laser Everything on photo engraving.

They speak to the Lightburn Developer that created dot-width adjust and he gives an excellent description with graphics of how it works.
