Help with Lightburn settings for JPT MOPA

Hi everyone, I’m looking for someone with experience using Lightburn and a 100W JPT M7 MOPA fiber laser." “I’m getting inconsistent engravings and need help finding the right settings for each metal card.” “I’d like to hire someone to help create a Lightburn material library with optimized settings for the different metal bank cards I use.” “My machine is a Scotle100W JPT M7 MOPA, EZCAD2 compatible galvo controller with Lightburn software and a 200 by 200 mm field lens.” If you’ve worked with MOPA fiber lasers, especially on stainless steel or coated metal bank cards, I’d love to hear about your experience. If possible, please share any similar work you’ve done. I’m happy to pay for your time if you’re the right person. Thank you.

Hi Mo, welcome to the forum.

There are a number of manufacturer sites that include suggested start settings. Nobody can give you exact settings, but maybe something functional and could be tweaked for your application.

Depending on what you’re doing, more exactly, most of @Bulldog posts, always include settings and may help you.

This is Thunder lasers suggestions. Ensure it set to some type of same wattage and it’s a MOPA like yours.

They have filters on top to select different machines, including co2.

This should help get you started. I think there are some settings libraries floating around this site and Laser Everything has some they used to give away. They also have a large Youtube presents that helps you learn your machine.

If you’re trying to engrave coated metal cards, might want to check out some of @Bulldog posts in finished projects

If you have specific issues, might want to sing out, include a photo and F lens length, preferably not a coverage value and actual focal length. Usually they are marked, my F254mm has about a 170x170mm.

Good luck.

Thank you! I really appreciate the detailed response and all the resources. I’ll check out @Bulldog’s posts, the Thunder Laser settings, and the Laser Everything material libraries.

As @jkwilborn noted, you’re best off learning from the variety of resources available. The LightBurn Forum isn’t the right place to find for-hire laser assistance though - we’re happy to help (for free) if you give us more context into what you’re trying to do.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I’m new to fiber lasers and I’m trying to engrave custom metal bank cards with a 100W JPT MOPA. My goal is to get reliable settings for different card finishes. i wanted to see if someone tried it before maybe he can help with the settings and ill do the tweaks based off their experience.
